KURI: VR Food Tasting Experience

Project Role: project management, experiential design

Overview
The Kokiri Lab team was invited to Cité des Sciences et de l'Industrie in Paris to showcase the KURI Virtual Reality Food Tasting Experience. Teamed up with French Pastry Chef Francois Daubinet, the KURI team created an VR experience that sought to visually, audibly, and aromatically enhance the tasting of the delicious patisserie.

CULINARY COLLABORATION

Our team collaborated with Chef Pâtissier Francois Daubinet (Paris) to create a multi-sensation patisserie to serve along with our VR experience. The purpose is to create an ensemble of various sensory experiences to go beyond our understanding and expectations of color and texture.

MORNING COFFEE & CALIBRATION

Every morning started with the re-calibration of the VR system. Here we are using the HTC system.

LAB & WORKSHOP

Our process involved many trial and errors while experimenting with different ideas and materials spanning physical prototyping, digital design, food and aroma testing. Below are a few photos showing different points of that process.
